Government Model Primary School-Kormangala

Creating Opportunities to Play, Learn and Excel

At Government Model Primary School, Koramangala, the distribution created opportunities across several sporting and learning activities, with a particular focus on skating and cricket. The school received 18 pairs of skating shoes, one skateboard, two skating wheels and 18 sets of skating protective gear. Together, these resources provide students with equipment to practise skating while placing an important emphasis on safety. The school also received three cricket bats, two pairs of cricket gloves, cricket pads, a cricket helmet and five practice cones, providing resources that can support cricket practice, training and team activities. The contribution extended to other sporting interests as well. Five sets of swimming gear, nine helmets and additional safety gear added to the range of resources available for physical activities. A wooden archery kit also introduced another sporting opportunity for students to explore. Alongside the sports equipment, two learning boxes added an educational element to the contribution, supporting the broader objective of providing children with opportunities to learn, play and explore different interests. The strength of the contribution to this school lies in its variety and potential for continued use. The equipment can become part of the school’s shared sporting resources and can benefit students beyond the immediate distribution. What began as items collected within the Greenwood High community has therefore been transformed into opportunities for children to practise, participate, learn new skills and discover interests they can pursue further.

GHPS school - Singasandra

From Donations to Opportunities: Building a Culture of Sport

At GHPS Singasandra, the contribution brought together a diverse range of sporting equipment, footwear, sportswear and recreational resources, creating a broader pool of resources for students to participate in different activities. The school received five cricket bats, seven tennis rackets, two footballs, three basketballs and ten small balls, providing equipment that can support both organised sporting activities and informal play. The contribution also included six pairs of football shoes and five pairs of running shoes, along with 11 sports shorts, two track pants, four sports T-shirts and four sports jackets. These items provide students with appropriate sportswear and footwear for participating in physical activities. Beyond team sports, the school also received a yoga mat and skipping rope, adding opportunities for individual fitness and physical activity. A carrom board provided an indoor recreational activity that students can enjoy together. What makes the contribution to GHPS Singasandra particularly meaningful is its breadth. Instead of supporting just one sporting activity, the collection created resources across cricket, tennis, football, basketball, fitness and indoor recreation. Each item represents a different possibility—a cricket bat to practise with, a tennis racket to discover a new sport, football and basketball equipment to play as a team, or sports shoes that make participation more practical. The initiative therefore helped expand the range of opportunities available to the students to play, participate, explore their interests and develop their abilities through sport.

Higher Primary School-Bandepalya

Opening Doors to Sport, Safety and Learning

At Government High School, Bandepalya, the distribution combined sports equipment, safety gear and basic learning supplies, supporting different aspects of the students’ school experience. The school received 22 rackets, three footballs, four pairs of skates, tennis balls and three pairs of sports shoes, giving students access to equipment for a variety of sporting activities. Safety was also an important part of the contribution. The school received nine helmets and five sets of safety gear, including additional equipment for other sporting activities. These resources can support safer participation and encourage students to engage in physical activities with appropriate protective equipment. The contribution also extended into the classroom. 19 scales, 14 pencils, glue and an eraser provided useful learning supplies that students can use as part of their everyday schoolwork. The value of this contribution lies in its diversity. From rackets and footballs to skates, helmets and basic stationery, the resources support three important areas of a child’s school experience: the opportunity to play, the ability to participate safely and the resources needed to learn. The items will also form part of the school’s shared resources and can potentially be used by students over a period of time. Through the generosity of the Greenwood High community, items that were no longer being used have been given a new purpose—supporting children in another school to participate, learn and enjoy their school experience.
